Features & Characteristics

WOOL IS A WONDER MATERIAL A SUSTAINABLE FABRIC THAT SUPPORTS RURAL COMMUNITIES.

The ZDAR Wool felt Winter Boot is a warm winter boot made by hand with 8mm of wool felt consisting of 100% lamb’s wool. All of our felt is top quality wool felt handcrafted in Germany and is most probably the warmest winter boot you can own.

WOOL IS THE ULTIMATE NATURAL FIBRE AND PREMIUM INGREDIENT IN LUXURY APPAREL.

Strict adherence standards are applied when it comes to consistency in the selection of the wool and its consistency in density. Strict too are the environmental standards applied during the production process. We rely on German production only for our winter snow boots. Wool being a protein fiber it has superior properties compared with other textile fibers:

  • Excellent insulator and ventilator.
  • Wool keeps your feet & skin dry.
  • Water repellent. Wool is naturally hydrophobic.

The scales on the outside of the fiber cause liquid to roll off the surface but even when wool does get wet it still retains most of its insulating properties.

LEATHER BOARDING

The backside of the leather boarding is sealed with Liquid latex. Latex being a 100% natural.

ZDAR INSOLE

Both the winter boots for women & mens winter boots are made from an ergonomically molded PU footbed with a cover made from cow leather. When it comes to cushioning, comfort and longevity nothing comes close to PU foam even after many years of wearing your ZDAR Winter Boots the footbed will feel as soft and comfortable as it did on the first day.

Underneath the footbed there is an insulating inner sole made from 8 mm felt.

HEMP

The ZDAR luxury winter boot outsole has superior traction featuring a rubber outsole with high natural rubber content and a multi direction thread pattern is provided. The lugs are slightly tapered so the soles are easy to clean. The hemp fibers stick out from the rubber surface of the sole helping to increase grip especially on ice as the hemp fibers provide much more friction on ice than a closed rubber surface would.
