I bought these boots because they looked gorgeous, I use them during rain and snow. When you first put your foot in the boot it almost feels like a soft slipper. They have a fur lining to keep you warm. They seem durable as well. Margaret – Minneapolis

These boots are extremely well made and would be very warm in cold weather. They are just a bit too edgy for me. I could see how someone in their teens or 20's would go gaga over these (I just turned 50). They would also be fun to wear in Aspen over a hot cup of cocoa in your favorite downtown cafe. I am so tired of Uggs and did not want to be one of the hundreds of thousands wearing them (when Costco makes it own version you know the fashion cycle has peaked). I saw these boots and thought they may be a different alternative to a warm, winter boot that is relatively water proof/resistant. Having traveled to Mongolia, I saw that all the nomads wear felt wool boots in the dead of winter where they get several feet of snow and the temperatures are well below freezing starting in Sept through May. So I thought if it works for them then it should work for me. While I was hoping to get this in a darker color, which was not available, I figured the lighter color would be better living in New England to avoid having the salt stains that have ruined countless boots I have had over the years. I am a former stylist and in my opinion, think that these boots would be great for any age. They are handmade and the quality is superb. The weight makes them ideal for packing, and they can be worn in both a mountain community, apres ski, or in an urban environment. I would not wear these during "mud season" in the mountains. If sprayed with Nikwax fabric and leather waterproofing, it will extend the water proofness of the gorgeous German wool, which is in itself water proof. I bought these three years ago while on vacation in Germany. The weather was snowy, and the boots I had brought with me had fallen apart. These are comfortable, and when I wear them I don't slip on the ice. I live in Minnesota, so it can get quite cold, but these boots keep my feet very warm. I recommend them highly. Lisa - Minnesota
